This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My first-grade students love books and reading! Throughout the day, they engage in paired reading, quiet reading, and read-aloud stories!
I am going into my sixth year of teaching, and my classroom library furniture is FALLING APART!
The back nails and panel are disconnected, the shelving is cracked, and the books are not displayed in a way that is appealing to my Firsties. Let's not mention the mice chew marks on the bottom! Yuck! My reading corner is messy and overwhelming.
The fulfillment of this project would help complete the reading corner of my classroom to make it more inviting for my young readers. They would be able to browse their reading options with ease and return the books without cramming them into our current broken shelves.
Help me continue instilling a love of reading in my students by putting the books in my classroom on display in a new, beautiful book browser!
Thank you so much, and I appreciate your consideration!
