Reading Rocks! Reading Resources Needed for First Grade! (Title 1)
Help me give my students reading materials and supplies, to help build the skills needed to grow in reading. Other supplies for classroom work such as journals, are also being requested.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a first grade teacher, and I could not be more proud to say that. I have a great group of students! They are eager to learn and have an amazing work ethic and overall positive outlook on life. They deserve the best education possible. They are hard workers and strive to make their world a better place.
I teach at a Title I school where every child receives free breakfast and lunch.
We are located near a large military base and as a result, serve children of active duty and retired military.
My Project
This project is being created to help my students become better readers, as well as learn to love reading in general! The main items in this project are for reading development. I am requesting items such as reading workbooks for both the students and myself to utilize throughout the year. The skills being covered will be in both language arts and reading area. I am also requesting sight word materials in many forms, such as the Hot Dots products, which can be used in stations and lessons. This project also includes word wall letters, to be able to show all the new sight words we are learning more visibly, on a bulletin board space in the classroom.
This project is very important to me, but also to my students.
I want to help my students grow in reading, and motivate them to love learning and reading. Besides reading materials, this project also includes items that both my students and I need this year, such as flair pens and a journal for each of the kids to use in small group time.
