My Students

Kindergarten is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students are learning to read, write, and count, while some of their classmates are learning to imitate sounds or hold a paintbrush. Our group loves to play outside, listen to stories, and dance to GoNoodle!

In this class, we build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences.

We are part of a K to 5 school. I teach in a wing of two kindergartens, two 1st grades and one k-2 LLD. We are a very close knit community. We are like family. My classroom is about building skills and fostering a safe learning environment. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate all our successes!

My Project

My students love to read and I would love to provide them a book nook where they could be comfortable during independent reading times. We currently only have a carpet that is not big enough for everyone. I would love to foster their love of reading by providing a colorful reading nook that they can really enjoy and get lost in a book. The soft seat cushions will be a welcomed addition that all can enjoy. I have chosen calming colors to help make it a relaxing area. I hope to energize them with pops of color, playful patterns, and special furniture that brings out the joy in opening a book. In return, they’ll be able to get lost in a story and the space.
