My students need exciting reading material to enhance the common core lessons we do. Having new materials will be exciting for my class.

My Students

My students love reading and listening to reading. They are all on different levels. Getting new, fun common core materials will help the children reach their goals by the end of the year. Having the common core books in my classroom will ensure that I will be prepared with the proper books.

I have 17 kids in my class.

They are 5 and 6 year old curious boys and girls who love learning. They live near the school, so they get to interact with each other after school as well. My school is a hands on school with fabulous teachers and a supportive community. The children are eager learners who have family support at home.

My Project

The students will use the book rack to house our big books so they can readily access them and clearly see the titles. I will use the common core books to teach the lessons and the children will be able to read the books on their own. They can read with a friend and recall information about the story. I will use the guided reading books when we do small group reading. The game will be used to enhance our phonemic awareness lessons. The magazines are a great supplement using non fiction material.

The donations will enhance the materials we already have.

It is always exciting to get new items, and the children will be eager to use the materials. Having some of the common core books in the classroom will make planning easier. The children will enjoy reading the new books and playing the game.
