My Project

Integrating reading and writing into the core subjects is a great way to deepen understanding and provide our students with a stronger sense of why the concepts are important.

Using picture books, as a teaching tool, in a math class can help students begin to see how math is used in the real world, while building a stronger foundation for understanding.

Numerous picture books have been written lately to help make math and its concepts more relatable to our students. I plan to use these books to build confidence as well as math vocabulary and understanding.
