My Project

Every item in this project will help create an engaging student-centered reading classroom where children feel comfortable, supported, and excited to become confident readers.

The books and comfortable floor cushions create a welcoming reading environment where the students can focus and enjoy books.

The use of the rolling white board is a flexible teaching space where the students can practice their reading and writing skills. The use of chart paper is an essential teaching tool for creating anchor charts that remain visible throughout the year.

These charts reinforce phonic rules, reading strategies, vocabulary, comprehensions skills and writing techniques. Having these visual reference helps students work more independent.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
