Help me give my students a class set of the novel, The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan, for our narrative novel study.

I teach at a Title 1, urban school and my students are firecrackers! They are bursting with light, energy and once ignited - a love for learning. They are curious, creative and exceptionally clever.
Every English teacher wants nothing more than to instill a life-long love of reading in their students, and this year I'm lucky enough to have a group who are hungry readers.
To feed their voracious appetites, we need books they can really sink their teeth into! Percy Jackson is a hero that my students can connect with. Percy struggles with learning disabilities and grew up in a single-parent household. Being from an impoverished area, my students also face many personal challenges, but their spirit of perseverance is an inspiration to me daily.
I began The Lightning Thief as a read aloud in my 6th grade ELA class but my students have been clamoring for copies of their own. Their excitement about this book is the spark that could ignite a life-long love for reading. The Lightning Thief is the first in an exciting series that can capture and keep the interest of my students for years to come.
During our novel study, students will also be researching Greek mythology and learning Greek and Latin root words.
The novel will help us to recognize the prevalence of Greek influence in modern society by providing a contemporary setting.
