This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A reading nook, with a lounge and learn chair and a comfy stool, can help students to build confidence, develop literacy skills, and promote a positive learning community with one another.

By creating a reading nook, students will feel welcomed and encouraged to read more often.

Engaging students to develop a love for reading will more than likely help them to overcome negative feelings towards reading, and help students have a growth mindset towards working on challenges they may face with reading.

This area is where students can go for independent reading, to select books of their choice from a variety of options that we have in our library. They can read in this area and become immersed in their books, rather than come back to sit at their desks.
