My classroom consists of students in a resource reading classroom for students with special needs. My students want to learn and improve their reading skills. Our school is in a rural area, where access to books such as those on my list is not possible without driving a good distance.
My Project
These materials will be used in class to help students with mastering the reading standards. This will also help them with better understanding because they will have access to the books we will be using in each unit. I am teaching resource reading for students in grades 6-8, all with learning disabilities. In our class, we will use the books to enhance student knowledge and expand their knowledge of literature. My students will be able to expand their vocabulary through literature and work on mastering common core state standards this year.
