This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a low income district, my students are faced with many challenges inside and outside of the classroom. I am looking for items to create a meaningful learning experience in the classroom.
My kindergartners are creative, loving and always eager to learn.
They love to move, read, and learn new things. Many of them are raised by single single parent household. I teach in a school district where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. By creating this project, I hope to inspire to seek deeper real world connections and tie the content to the word in which they live.
My Project
Kindergarten begins with learning letters and letter sounds. Now that we have finished covering all letters and their sounds, it is time to move on to the next best thing! Creating words and learning to read words.
My students are currently working on creating words to learn to read.
All the materials I have chosen involve hands on learning. These materials will help my students learn how to create words. This will also help them begin to read words and learn sight words. Please help my students and the future leaders of America learn how to ready by donating to this amazing project!
