My Students

Ours is a rural community, with almost 300 students in grades K-12. Graduating classes average between 30-40 seniors.

Our school is a family.

Because of its small size, teachers know everyone by name. We know their families. We recognize their strengths and weaknesses. We support each other through tragedies and celebrate triumphs.

Parents of current students reflect on their own experiences as they walk through the halls, as many of them attended here too. The graduating kindergarteners walk with the graduating seniors in the local Memorial Day parade toward the end of the school year, celebrating both the beginning and the end of their time here.

This small-town school district is the heart of our community.

My Project

My students love to read! The novels they're discovering are expanding their vocabularies and knowledge. The best classroom reading days are accompanied by headphones for them to listen to the audiobook while following along in the text.

Unfortunately, not all of my students have headphones of their own to enhance their reading experience.

This classroom set of headphones, sanitized after every use, will ensure equal access to the audio so that each one of the students in my classroom can work at his or her own pace and fully understand the text.
