Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The first graders in my classroom are growing in their self-confidence as readers. They have mastered letter/sound correspondence and phonics basics. Now, they just need more practice reading connected text and receiving feedback on their reading.

With the headsets I'm requesting, students will be able to record themselves reading aloud.

With 26 students in each class, recordings will help me to hear more students more often than is possible during the class period. These recordings will also help students hear their own and their peers' voices as developing readers. Most importantly, when students hear their own voices reading, they'll recognize that they truly are capable readers!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
