Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My third graders are going to change the world! My classroom is full of bright, engaged learners who are learning the valuable lessons they need to be successful leaders in the world within our four walls. Our classroom is one of the few fully flexible classes on campus, and we have seen how beneficial it has been to my students first-hand! We focus on learning each day by giving our best selves to every task.
Our school is Title I school where all of the students qualifying for free and reduced lunches.
Most of my students do not have luxuries that most other children in our state and country have been afforded. Many of them struggle to meet their basic needs when they are at home.
Despite these circumstances, my students are more resilient and focused on their learning than many adults in our world. They give their all each and every day inside and outside our class. They deserve the best life and education has to offer them!
My Project
Our school staff works hard to make our classrooms feel like home to our students! Just by making our classroom more bright, organized, and welcoming our students are more likely to succeed.
Students who feel at home in their classrooms are more likely to commit to their learning and succeed!
Using any resources I have available, I aim to make my classroom as much like a home as possible with comfortable pillows. I want students to to feel safe, loved, and welcomed in our school. I know by meeting their immediate needs to be loved and protected I can then work on educating them to the highest degree possible with new and engaging books.
