Reading Is Magical! Celebrating March Is Reading Month!
Help me give my students a "March is Reading Month" to remember! Reading is Magical, and we have a full month of themed reading and activities planned for our scholars!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Students at our school are excited to engage with the learning and each other! Our scholars love interactive, hands-on, conversation rich activities that get their brains thinking and their bodies moving! My fellow teachers and I are always thinking about creative ways to present learning and concepts with rigor as well as fun and excitement. Our K-2 learners deserve fun learning opportunities and memorable moments!
March is Reading Month presents the perfect opportunity to encourage our scholars to engage in daily reading and writing activities in a fun and meaningful way!
Our theme is Reading is Magical, and every day of the month our scholars will have a special activity to engage with. The materials requested will be used for student engagement. Students will keep a monthly reading log that they can submit for a chance to win a book and plushie (two winners per grade level). All students who participate during the month in reading and logging will be given a certificate and goody bag with reading themed pencils, stickers, pop its, etc. Scholars will also be visited by a unicorn (me in costume) to participate in a read aloud and receive unicorn suckers. We are also planning a family night to give out reading resources and books.
