Reading is Magic for Kids to Learn Languages!

Help me give my students awesome books to read and learn the target language! They will learn through reading and apply it to the real life conversation!

My Students

Our kids are Dual Language Immersion learners. They did such a great job during the covid-19 years. Learning a second language requires more effort and energy, but they handled it pretty well. They spoke the target language as much as they could with masks on. They tried so hard to listen to the sounds of the words in the target language because teachers wore masks to teach. They loved to read the targeted language books and to be better readers!

My Project

Our kids are learning a second language in school. They have really limited books to read besides the textbooks. It is really important and fun for kids to learn a language through reading. They would benefit more from reading more target language books. I plan to build a reading corner in the classroom and place a bookshelf there for my kids to read books! By reading more, I believe that kids will improve their reading and speaking skills in the target language, and they get a chance to know more about the culture of the language.
