My students need a class set of books for our read-aloud as well as group sets of books for our Book Clubs! This would help the students access content specific to their needs!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students walk into our room every morning knowing that school is a powerful place. Every day they work hard to learn, work and produce because school is their safe workplace. They come to school and do the best they can because they have a passion to grow and make the most of their days at school.
100% of the students in my district qualify for free breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The students also take part in many after school programs because they are not able to be picked up till much later in the afternoon or evening.
My students love read-alouds and book talks. They love it when the classroom comes to life and they love learning because when they do, they know they receive a 'Mission Complete!'
My Project
I am requesting some classroom essentials such as privacy folders to help students focus during testing situations. I am also requesting whisper phones to allow students to expand on their speaking and listening skills; if they hear their voice they will be better able to improve their speaking skills. I am also requesting book sets to help students gain access to leveled readers and help create book clubs tailored to each student's and group's specific needs and levels.
Ensuring students have access to books at their level will help them to understand content and freely dive into the world of literature.
Not all students who enter the fifth grade are at a fifth grade reading level. The students will quickly lose sight of their reading goals if the content is too difficult for them to access. Similarly, students at or above grade level need to be challenged with more difficult texts. This is all in done in an effort to help the children grow and expand their abilities from where they are. This helps make it more individualized for the students.
The assistance of technology and whisper phones to their reading, will help students improve their fluency. This will help boost their self-esteem and confidence altogether! Create a love for reading and the whole world opens up for them!
