My Project

This has been such a tough year and my children have tried so hard to learn. Summer is coming and I want to celebrate all their hard work with a Pete the Cat Reading party. I am asking for three Pete the Cat books for each of my awesome students to read and keep. I am also requesting Pete the Cat bookmarks and some groovy sunglasses. The sunglasses will enable my kids to look as cool as Pete the Cat while they celebrate their hard work.

My kids need Pete the Cat books and some fun, groovy sunglasses and bookmarks to help them celebrate reading.

I teach at an older, urban school where many of my kids are trying very hard to learn, and at the same time, they are learning how to navigate being in school. Some of my students are newcomers to this country; some are the children of deployed military personnel; some are from remote Alaskan villages. Some are deemed at-risk, some are trying to learn English, some are struggling because they don't have resources and support at home, but they all keep trying and I love their can-do attitudes. They are my heroes!

Our school has no money for this type of project. My students are the most wonderful kids in the world, and they need your help. With the support of donors, my kids will get to read the day away with Pete the Cat. I know these books will be perfect for our read-in celebration fun.
