My students need book bins to organize their reading materials, as well as flash lights for our Flashlight Fridays.

Our school is located in a suburb outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A majority of the students at our school come from low-income families. The staff at our school will step in, when needed, to provide students with the tools they need to be successful individuals.
George Evans once said, "Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or in the same way."As educators, it is our responsibility to engage students by creating interactive and meaningful learning tasks. Every day is a new opportunity to change the life of a child forever.
In our classroom, students will each receive a book bin to store their reading books. This will ensure that students are maximizing their reading time by reading, rather than searching for a book in the classroom library. Every Monday, students will have the opportunity to browse the classroom library and choose several books to store in their book bins. Students will have the opportunity to read these books during the week. By providing students with book bins it is my hope that students will spend more of their time reading and less time searching the class library for a book.
I have also requested flash lights to make reading fun and encourage students to read.
During Flashlight Friday, students will have the opportunity to choose a quiet spot in the room to read with the use of their flashlight. It is my hope that by creating fun read opportunities, such as Flashlight Friday, for students that they will associate reading with having fun.
