My kindergarten class is made up of wonderful little learners! Our class has 24 students in a Title I classroom and school. These students receive free breakfast and free lunch as well, but these students have something in common with children everywhere- the love of learning something new every day!
My kinder class has energetic, exuberant little sponges, who love to explore and make goals for themselves in whatever they are trying to achieve!
Although achievement is a goal, my mission is to make sure my students are having fun and know they are being cared for and supported!
The books I have requested will be used during our Language Arts Comprehension component of the day. We will read the books for enjoyment certainly, but as well as to reinforce standards such as visualization, retelling, making connections, defining character traits and giving opinions.
Wonderful storytelling by crafted authors makes a lifetime impact on children.
Developing rich vocabulary, making connections between spoken and written word, strengthening student cognition, exploring strong emotions, and promoting a bond with the reader(reading eggs) are all skills that I wish to enhance in my Kindergarten classroom. Help me grow children who love storytelling and wonderful books.
