My Students

I love teaching first grade because of the sweet little firsties that make up my classroom. They have eager little minds and are filled with joy and excitement the second they walk into the classroom.

My students come from a variety of different backgrounds including single households, multiple families households, and two parent households.

The parents do their best to support their children and our school.

My students have and are currently developing a love of reading. They are excited to explore the world of mathematics and science. I hope I can inspire them to be good citizens and to always do their best. These young children are the reason I became a teacher. They motivate me to be a better person.

My Project

Motivating kids to read can be quite the challenge for some, especially the last couple of years. Many children are behind in their reading skills because of the unfortunate circumstances we have been experiencing the last couple of years. For some students reading comes easy, but for most students reading can be a big challenge. I want my students to be excited to read despite the difficulties that they are encountering. By funding my project, you will provide me with classroom books, bean bags for a fun reading center, games to help increase their sight word fluency, and rewards to keep on encouraging their eager minds.
