My Students

Kindergarten is such an exciting time! It is a crucial time in a child's education. Kindergarten classes have very diverse needs. Some children come to school with strong foundations in literacy and can recognize letters and sounds, write legibly and have rich life experiences. Others come needing to have these skills developed at school with their teacher and peers. Kindergarten children come to school happy and eager to learn. They are hands on learners with amazing abilities to solve problems with creativity.

A kindergarten classroom needs to be equipped with resources and materials to meet these diverse needs in an engaging way.

The environment and resources are key to providing young children with an interactive and equal education. These early educational experiences shape the future of their school successes and experience.

My Project

This project will help students learn to read in Kindergarten. Many Kindergarten students were not able to attend preschool due to COVID-19 and they require extra support and exposure in literacy skills. Kindergarten students need lots of engaging interactions with text and words. This is essential for their literacy development. The books in this project will provide each student with an individual copy to read. The dice and word cards will be a positive way for students to practice spelling words.

Learning to read can be fun!

This project will help students not only learn to read, but it will help them develop a love for reading because they will feel successful and engaged. This will set the stage for their literacy development.
