My students need a classroom library full of interesting books that will help them to grow as readers! These include individual titles, like "Through My Eyes" and biographies, as well as the Diary Of A Wimpy Kid Box Of Books
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As an English teacher, there's nothing more inspiring than watching a student become completely engrossed in a good book. Unfortunately, my students have limited access to books that interest them.
I teach sixth-grade English language arts at a low-income public middle school in the Mississippi Delta.
My students face serious economic hardship and a crippling lack of resources, but still they come to school every day excited about learning and reading. Their growth as readers has been amazing, and every day I am absolutely blown away by their progress.
My Project
A classroom library full of great books will do wonders for my students. When students regularly read outside of school, their writing skills, reading levels, and vocabularies improve dramatically. So many of my kids love to read, but constantly have trouble finding books that interest them. A classroom library full of engaging, challenging books will guarantee that my students can always find something good to read.
I don't want to let limited resources hold my kids back!
