Reading is a Hoot!
My students need 9 new books and book sets to enhance our classroom library.
We are in need of books, our book selection is limited for many reasons. First, we are currently in our first year of Reader's Workshop, where books are needed most. Secondly, we have 21 students who are actively reading 4-6 books per week, so book selection is quite difficult as of right now.
Our classroom is filled with young readers who are very interested in a variety of genres.
Our classroom library is limited and we want our students to have as many books at their fingertips as possible. Since we are on a military base, our students are transient the love of books is the one constant that they have in their daily lives.
Our students will be reading 4-6 books a week over the next 36 weeks. Our library exists, however, it is very limited. We feel that by increasing the amount of books in our library, that we will expose our students to various genres, author's craft, and writing styles.
Our students will benefit by the donation of books as our goal is to create life-long readers!
When a student has a wide variety of books and genres to select from, their love of reading becomes endless.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
