My Project
I teach First grade in a diverse urban area of the Philadelphia School District. I have varied learners in my classroom, all of which have different abilities and needs to reach their potential. I have also been designated as the English language learner classroom. My students come to school eager to learn, and I am happy to be there with them to share and instill a love of learning.
This is my first year in this grade level, coming from Kindergarten for a number of years and while many of my supplies can be used for first grade I do not have enough books on level for my students. Please consider helping to give my students the opportunity to become more independent readers with the use of these books. These books will included in our classroom library for small group, independent reading and partner reading. This will give students many opportunities to read to themselves and their peers building fluency, stamina, and confidence.
