My Students

A typical day in my classroom involves many hands-on activities. It is very important for students to apply what they are learning in a variety of different ways.

I teach 5th grade in a Title 1 school.

My school has a high percentage of free and reduced lunch. We have great parents who are supportive of their children but are unable to donate many supplies that are needed. My school also has many activities that help to involve the community.

My Project

These materials will help my students become more engaged in reading both independently and collectively.

This will help engage students while reading classics.

I will be able to introduce my students to a variety of different books that they might not otherwise be introduced to. I want all my students to grow to love reading.

These books will also allow my students to have different book choices to read during our center time. Students will look forward to center time to read new books. This will help me motivate them with reading.
