Reading for Confidence

Help me give my students the joy of reading books they will understand and will help grow their confidence in their own abilities. These students need to understand they are capable of reading.

My Students

Hello! My students are energetic and eager to learn! They are excited to participate in class and collaborate with their peers. My students enjoy working along with their friends and helping one another learn in the classroom. We serve children from a wide variety of socio-economic backgrounds and students with various personalities and it makes for one crazy, fun classroom!

Most of my students are reading three grades below level.

To remedy this dilemma, I have compiled a list of books to add to my classroom library to foster a healthy reading environment.

My Project

These books will allow my students to cultivate their reading abilities at a pace they enjoy and understand. These children deserve a chance to learn how to read and better than minds through textual knowledge.

By starting off with lower-level books, I will encourage my students to read other material with higher Lexile levels.

The goal I am trying to reach is building their confidence. Once students read a story they can visualize and understand, they realize other books work the same way.

Through reading these texts my students will be able to experience the joy of being lost in a book.
