In order to accommodate growing learning differences between students, we are attempting to make our classrooms more flexible in seating. These tables and chairs will help our classrooms accommodate the growing number of students as well as the diverse needs of our students. We are aiming to phase out most desks in order to make our environment more group work friendly. In the modern age, people skills and the ability to communicate and work on a team is more desirable than work done alone. Desks no longer achieve the purpose of preparing students for the future in their learning environment. These tables will help to give space for students who work together on assignments and projects, to collaborate and grow in knowledge. Reading is also a huge focus at our school as we attempt to give students the necessary skills to read to learn. Reading skills are absolutely necessary for a growing mind and as we focus on this, we would like to provide comfortable places to encourage those young ones who do not get into reading often a place to go to tune everyone else out.
