My Students
Hello from a wonderful group of students! All my students are on free lunch and are attending a low performing school. They are, however, hopeful and hard-working.
Exposure to language has been limited due to foster home changes, English as a second language learners and a low socio-economic status.
Single parent homes provide the best that they can, but the kids continue to feel the absence of a parent. They respond in ways that can make teaching and learning difficult. They all know when others are genuinely concerned about their shortcomings. When they feel special, they respond in rewarding ways, also.
My Project
Reading in early ages, helps students approach learning goals with confidence and enthusiasm. It exposes youth to situations and settings that they would not otherwise encounter. Students learn to appreciate reading and to attempt reading without intimidation.
While most learning stations help to heighten stimulation in young learners, whereas reading or listening to stories offers them a calming way to regroup, escape, and explore new places and ideas.
Read alongs are the perfect way help to engage reluctant readers.
This reading addition will guide students into the learning process of using pictures, reading from left to right and to attend to the sweeping process.
