Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are a Pre K- 2 school with over 800 students. We are a Title I school and most of our students are on free or reduced lunch. The administration and teachers at our Elementary promote reading and it shows. The students at our school love to read books. It gives them great joy, when they are able to select books that they can read to their teacher without any assistance. The classroom teachers and librarian at our school have tons of genres and a plethora of books for our students to read on a daily basis. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, schools are closed, the students are home, and don't have access to many books or any books at all!

My Project

Providing my students with these awesome books and bookmarks will keep them engaged in reading and allow them to read with their parents and/or siblings. Reading these books will also take them on some exciting adventures!

Having these books at home to read during the coronavirus pandemic will help keep the students engaged and will enhance their reading skills.

These book titles are ones the students will cherish and keep forever. Hopefully, providing these books for the students will allow them to start or build on to their very own library.
