My Project

There is fantastic news for my Mandarin learners, especially those who've recently moved from China: LAUSD has generously funded the purchase of a large collection of Simplified Chinese books for language teachers like myself. This is incredibly exciting for my students!

The upcoming book collection includes not only Simplified Chinese books but also books in various other Asian languages, reflecting the diverse cultural backgrounds of my students.

These books will provide them with an opportunity to not only enhance their language skills but also to explore and celebrate their identities.

With the books due to arrive in my classroom soon, it's time to prepare a special reading corner just for them. I'll need a sizable bookcase to house the incoming collection of books, floor mats, and cleaning tools (mop, vacuum cleaners, disinfecting wipes) to maintain the area. Some other learning supplies, such as pencil sharpeners, file holder, tape, magnet clips, charger, stickers, and origami paper are sustaining classroom supplies for my students to engage in learning. With your generous donation, my students will have access to a clean and comfortable reading corner where they can enjoy daily reading sessions. This initiative will not only enhance their academic learning in Mandarin but also immerse them in the culture.
