My Project

Our classroom is in need of a display book shelf for our Reading Center. Reading is an essential part of a child’s early development. For kindergarten readers, regular access to books helps build vocabulary, comprehension, letter and sound recognition, imagination, and a lifelong love of learning. When children are able to choose books that capture their attention, they are more motivated to explore stories, practice early reading skills, and talk about what they have read.

This book display shelf will help us create an organized, inviting, and child-friendly reading center where books are showcased instead of hidden away.

Students will be able to easily browse our classroom library, make independent choices, and return books to their proper places. It will also help us rotate books based on our classroom themes, seasons, and learning goals.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
