Reading Can Be Fun!

My students need a set of "10 Prize-Winning TOON Graphics for Middle Grades" books to help them improve reading skills.

My Students

My inclusion students are a diverse group of 4th and 5th graders. Our school is high poverty, all students are eligible to receive free breakfast. Many students have no access to extra books or the internet at home.

Many of my students are reluctant readers.

They often struggle with vocabulary and reading comprehension, which can cause them to avoid reading. Most of my students have enthusiasm, curiosity, and a desire to learn. I hope to help them become fluent readers.

My Project

These TOON graphic readers would enable my students to read something they may consider more interesting than the typical textbook. The visuals would help them to understand and connect with the text.

Reading for pleasure and information is a lifelong skill.

I feel that success breeds success and students may read more if they are engaged in what they are reading. I hope that students will want to read these books.

I would allow students to take home the books and share the experience with their families. We would also be able to discuss and share things they learned in the books they read.
