This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a teacher in a STEM classroom, I am constantly looking for ways to engage and inspire my students in these important subjects. That's why I am reaching out to ask for your help in obtaining a set of books that will do just that.

Our students need to see themselves reflected in the stories and examples we provide for them, and these books do just that.

"Hidden Figures: The True Story of Four Black Women and the Space Race" and "Who Was Sally Ride?" introduce our students to real-life role models who have made significant contributions in science and technology. These books will not only educate our students about the subject matter, but will also serve as examples of what is possible with hard work and determination.

But it's not just about the content of these books. The way they are presented is also important. Interactive books like "What If You Had an Animal Tail?" and "I'm Trying to Love Math" encourage children to think creatively and scientifically, while "How This Book Was Made" gives our students a behind-the-scenes look at the process of creating and producing knowledge in STEM fields.

By providing our students with a diverse array of books on STEM topics, we can help to foster a lifelong love of learning and curiosity in these subjects. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on the education and growth of our students.
