This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach a group of first grade students who are energized and want to learn. We are located in a 1-8 public school in a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Often times my students learn through various avenues and I am often faced with the opportunity of differentiating instruction to meet the needs of each child.
At times teachers need to provide additional instruction to reach all learners.
First graders need options to learn where they feel comfortable and confident in doing so.
My Project
First grade students love to have books that are fast, fun and easy to read. With the donation of leveled reader book sets, students will have a selection of books at their fingertips that they can read independently. These books will help students to practice their reading fluency and feel confident in their reading skills. Everyone wants to be good at something.
When a child feels confident as they read, they will be able to master reading with skills that are learned at this early age.
This will be a gift that will have lasting effects on each child.
