My Students

Reading and drawing are two activities that my students love doing so why not incorporate them together!

My students are fourth graders in a high poverty elementary school.

I have 23 students in my classroom with a wide range of abilities, needs, and concerns. Even though my students may deal with struggles at home, they come to school every day ready and willing to be part of our family and learn what they can. They strive to be "The Best They Can Be" each and every day!

My Project

With these resources my students will be able to build upon their love of reading and drawing. We plan to utilize the two Nooks I am requesting to read novels as a class. It is easier to buy one copy of the book and have it on several Nooks, as opposed to buying a class set of novels. In addition, my students are a fan of technology so imagine their excitement to read on a Nook. As we are reading the novels together, my students will be asked to reflect on the events in the novel. I am also requesting crayons and colored pencils which will be used to complete our reflections in a colorful, creative way.
