Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am requesting funding for equipment for a sensory room. The students that will benefit from the equipment are served within 5 classrooms that support students identified as having Autism. The students have difficulty with being able to access the educational curriculum due their inability to regulate their sensory systems. Since these students are cognitively impaired and often have physical disabilities and are non-verbal or have limited ability to communicate, they become agitated easily.

The equipment I am requesting funding for will aid the students in calming down and to regulate their sensory systems.

My Project

We are very excited to be able to use these extra manipulatives to help us with our reading and writing skills! I will use this to help them with their writing skills and reading skills. My students are in a moderate level Autism Program, and they need additional practice on these skills. Please help my students get the materials they need to help them master their writing and reading objectives.

My students need one on one attention while they are working, and these reading and writing materials will really help them achieve their reading goals and objectives.
