Help me give my students resources to become better readers and writers. I print many decodable books for my students. It would be beneficial to have the Epson printer in my classroom to do this.
In our school we have a belief that "Everybody Learns Everyday." We teach our students to believe not only in themselves but everyone else in the classroom and school. We support each other and celebrate "ALL" learning and accomplishments that take place. We are a team that values each other and supports each other.
In our first grade classroom we have a saying that says, "We are not the quitting kind." In our class of 64 brave kids we are part of the Dual Language Immersion Program.
These first grade friends of mine spend half of their day learning reading and writing in English. The other half of their day is spent learning Spanish. First grade is the first year these kids start this program in our school. They come to school each day with a variety of emotions. In the beginning they are nervous, scared, and excited all in one. As the year goes on I witness these brave kids tackle hard things. They can do this because we believe in each other and cheer for each other. We are a family that works together to build a positive community where learning happens each day.
My Project
My students are working on becoming better readers and writers. We have started using a new phonics based curriculum this year to help teach reading. I have been printing out decodable books for my 64 students. This has cost me a lot of money. It would be nice to have my own printer in the classroom so that we can print the books in our own room. We write everyday and have been writing little books. My students go through a lot of pencils, paper, small writing books, markers, etc. to make these fun and engaging books to share with others.
