My Students

My students are very bright and eager first grade students. This is my first year of teaching and I am trying to acquire all of their guided reading materials that go along with their literacy lessons. As a first year teacher, I do not have many resources when it come to books that students use and I want the to have the best.

I am so excited that this is my first year in first grade and I really want to give my students as many literary resources at I possibly can.

I want them to have the opportunity to explore different texts and really open their minds to different worlds throughout reading.

My Project

These books will help students learn different units across all subject areas. Each book chosen will be used during read aloud as well as options for student to read on their own.

Growing up in the school system I never got the opportunity to explore a variety of texts that showed diversity or let me read about different subjects I was learning about, and with this project I really took those memories to heart and want to give my students what I was unable to get as a student their own age.

Through various literary lessons being taught, I will use these various texts that go along with each lesson as an opener when students are learning new key information.
