Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are wonderful! They come to school ready and willing to learn. They are special-needs children who struggle daily in all academic areas. They feel so good about themselves when they make progress. It is challenging to find the appropriate supplies when funds are low in the district.
Many of students are reading well below grade level and are struggling in math and science and they also have limited support outside of the school.
Their community is unable to provide them with resources to support their reading necessities. In turn our school district struggles to meet their needs due to low funding.
My Project
We are requesting science photo cards and math centers like Hot Dots math quiz cards help them make significant progress in these areas. I will be able to create science and math centers geared to their developmental level. I will be able to align the lessons to the common core and also to their IEP (Individual Education Plans). They will learn grade-level math skills and grade level science skills.
Reading on grade level and performing math skills and science skills is imperative for future success.
The eagerness that they display on a daily basis will be encountered with books that they are in need of. This will encourage them to continue to read and implement it as a life long skill. These supplies will make such a huge difference in my classroom! My students will be so thankful and appreciative if you decide to fund our project!
