My Students
My class is filled with incredible first graders! I have never seen a group of students so excited about learning new things and wanting to explore the world! These students are fostered by an amazing school staff and supportive parents. In first grade, we are trying to apply the foundational skills of the alphabet and number sense from kindergarten into reading picture books and building math equations.
My students are enthusiastic about learning new things and furthering their knowledge and skills.
I can't wait to see how far my students can go as the year goes on!
My Project
After the gaps made with COVID-19, I have seen my first graders needing more reinforcement in reading and math then previous years. With increased absences and a portion of school being remote, I want supplies in my classroom that will help me deliver meaningful and effective lessons that target areas that my students struggle in.
During my reading and math centers, I use that time to meet with smaller groups of students and help fill in learning gaps that are needed.
With my project, I am asking for chair pockets so students can have supplies and reading decodables at their desk. I am asking for binders and bins that I can organize my small group materials in so they are easy and prepared to use daily. I am also asking for math manipulatives that I can use for topics in our math curriculums to help students better understand concepts.
