Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 70% of our students receiving free lunch. Many of our students are English Language Learners. Our class has been placed on a new school campus and we are looking to refill the classroom with supplies and materials we no longer have.
The students in my class are all on the moderate to severe Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Special education students require additional supports and modifications which require more teaching materials.
My Project
Students in my class start their mornings off with reading and writing. By adding the multiple grade level reading journals, students can keep these in their desk and continue to work on them daily. Reading is so important to us and by having journals students can be more organized.
It is no denying that the students in my class love working with dough.
By adding the various color dough and dough tools, we will be able to get rid of our old stale dough. The new tools will allow us to work on our fine motor skills, spelling, writing, and following directions.
