Reading and Counting for Financial Literacy

My students need books about money, Hot Dots math activities and pens, and Lego educational sets to help them learn about financial literacy.

My Students

From learning our numbers and letters to experiencing the joy in simple things like recognizing their name for the first time or having lunch in the cafeteria, my students show progress every single day and each moment is a new learning adventure. Each day brings new growth and challenges that they willingly tackle with zest and enthusiasm.

Together we are striving to create a safe community of learners filled with compassion, kindness, and concern for others.

We are practicing important life skills such as following directions, cleaning up our own messes, sharing and taking turns, being honest and truthful in all our interactions, and being safe, respectful, and responsible.

Kindergarten should be an environment filled with hands-on learning experiences. When my students are able to engage in these activities first hand, they better understand the world around them and their place in it.

My Project

Having the opportunity to read books about money and how to earn, save, and spend it appropriately will allow my students to have a cross-curricular experience with the basics of financial literacy. Hot Dots addition and subtraction activities along with Hot Dot pens and batteries will let my students practice their emerging math skills in a fun and engaging way.

Young students learn best through hands on activities, rather than just simply sitting and listening.

These activities are a great way to reinforce basic skills needed for adding and subtracting money.

Legos Wild Animals Set and Build Me Emotions will allow all my students to build together while learning. Legos help students with counting, organizing and management skills. We will also need storage boxes to keep our new learning activities neat and organized.
