My students are very excited to learn in the classroom. They are hard workers who try their best at anything they do. They are willing to help out each other. I am so proud of their hard work in my classroom. They are avid readers.
At our low-income/high-poverty school district, I work with students who are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Due to their low income/high poverty, our school receives a grant that allows all students to receive free lunch.
My Project
What is your favorite sport? Our students love fishing, football, gymnastics, cheerleading, baseball, etc. I want to get books about sports that are exciting for our students.
Our reference section in our school's library is bare.
I think these books will really spark some of our students' interests. Our school library really needs updating on our books. Our library only gets a small amount of money for books a year. Our students also use reading to take a mental break and get away from the world for awhile. With COVID-19, our students need more mental and physical breaks for their health.
More than half of students from low‑income households
