Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a second grade teacher in Nevada. My focus in my classroom this year is to have all my students leave my classroom reading at or above grade level before moving onto third grade. Our district is going through budget cuts and supplies are scarce.

Our second grade team of seven staff photo copies take-home books from the Reading A-Z website, so students can all have books at home at their reading levels. Many of our students do not have access to appropriate leveled text at home for them to read. This takes a large amount of paper to do for our classes of 18(average) students.

We need paper to meet our goals as teachers to help students meet their reading goals. Reading skills are an essential life skill, and your donation will ensure a bright future for my students.

Your help will ensure that all our students have the opportunity to be a successful reader. You will make it possible for many students to have books at home that they can read. Reading skills help students in all other subject areas, not just reading.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
