My Students

My students are part of the first Cambridge International Exam Program in my state. They are bright and hardworking students. They are enrolled in multiple advanced classes, while still being involved in a wide range of activities and working as leaders on our campus.

The students in my class will be the future leaders of our community.

In class, the students learn how to conduct research on global topics and create proposals for solutions to the problems of the future. They are becoming life-long learners and leaders.

My Project

A good book can make a reader examine the world differently. A good book can make a reader see the world with different eyes. A good book can make a reader want to learn more about the world around them.

The book I am requesting is the type of book that makes a reader think, look and learn.

With your help, I can have the students study the choices that these characters make and how it changes the outcome of the story. As a class we can advance our reading skills and habits by reading THE BEAN TREES.

The Bean Trees is a wonderful and sometimes sad story about a young girl starting out as an adult, and making choices that impact the people around her.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
