The students in my classroom deserve so much more than our community and district can offer. The middle school services students in grades five through eight. The families living in the district consist mostly of those with a lower income. The students from lower income families have limited exposure to technology and various resources most take for granted.
I believe in my students, and I know that keeping students involved with quality educational resources enriches their minds and provides valuable opportunities for their future.
The students in sixth grade are hard-working, appreciative, and eager to learn. As an educator, member of the community, and a parent, I feel it imperative to provide the students with the necessary tools for success. It is my wish to see you believe in them, too!
My Project
This selection of books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I am striving to create. My developing classroom library is a place that my students enjoy! Every student book placed in my library is treated with respect, and my students are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with the hope that students will explore and learn about various areas and species around the world. The books will be utilized in the classroom to encourage independent reading.
With these new books, my students will be able to select from a variety of titles full of amazing creatures, enabling them to read and learn about their favorite species independently.
Students will be encouraged to select book titles that interest them as well as those that provide an opportunity to explore and grow. One of the best ways to increase reading comfort zones is to read more and to be successful! These books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading by providing them many opportunities to explore. My students have already displayed an astonishing interest in independent reading and research! This project will assist the enrichment and growth of my students via the printed word.
