Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

In my 4th grade ELA classroom, we are fostering a love of reading. We read grade level texts together to support content, and my scholars read leveled texts for their own student-led book clubs. My 4th graders also have opportunities to read books of their own choosing during independent reading.

In order to cultivate an enjoyable reading experience, I would love to incorporate flexible seating options.

My scholar's love to find a quiet corner to read; this experience would be enhanced as more scholars would have access to flexible seating options. There is nothing better than getting lost in a great book in comfort.
