Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have had to overcome so much in their short lives. Now that they are back full-time, in-person, I sense that they can get a bit overstimulated and overwhelmed with all the people around and information coming at them. I want my classroom to be a calming oasis for them that really supports their love of reading.

These materials will help me transform my classroom into a garden like literary café for my students to have a calm and relaxing environment to learn and grow.

I want them to get back into the swing of things, post-pandemic distance learning. I want them to be successful in school life, but also in their everyday life as well. These materials will help me to transform the backgrounds of all my walls, display high-interest books, and to make them personalized bookmarks every quarter. By creating a unique learning space and giving them all the materials to take ownership of their own reading histories, I hope to give my students the solid base they need to jump off into their next great adventure.
