I teach at a public school in Charleston County. My students are an amazing group of fourth-graders who come to school every day eager to learn.
I have a large class of varying ability levels and special needs who love being introduced to new things and always embrace any challenge that I throw their way.
There is a wide range of academic levels and it is my goal to push them to reach grade level and beyond by the end of the year! This is accomplished by having high expectations, encouraging students to be the best and providing them with authentic learning opportunities that will keep them interested and motivated to learn.
My Project
My students need a variety of content related to Social Studies and Science books to practice using their non-fiction reading strategies and deepen their understanding and knowledge of the Revolutionary War
My students love to read, and it is my goal to provide them with access to as many books and genres as I can.
Many of my students love to read non-fiction. They are especially excited when some of that read connects to their learning in the content areas. They love to learn about some off the topics more deeply than what is just covered in class. These books will allow my students to read more about the American Revolution. These books will also allow students to practice their non-fiction reading strategies in order to comprehend and make sense of the content they are reading.
