This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our library see hundreds of students every week. Most come to find a great book (or three) to read or use for school assignments. When they bring their books up to the circulation desk to check out, their eyes immediately search for the bookmark bin, to see what new reading markers are available.

We need a steady supply of fun, inspirational and functional bookmarks for our young library patrons.

Bookmarks help keep our library books in great shape, by helping students save their place without folding pages or breaking bookbindings. Bookmarks also spark imagination and discussions. Students love holiday themes or bookmarks that become art projects, with outlines to color in. Students especially love when there are many bookmarks to choose from, meeting their mood or needs. It's amazing what a small piece of card stock can do to engage our students.
